My Eternal Companion

Life feels incomplete without a true friend. A good friend stays with us through our darkest hours, fills our life with joy, and becomes our strongest support. In such friendships, both joys and sorrows are shared deeply. Over time, a bond develops quietly, almost unnoticed and it becomes something truly unique and profound.

On my journey through life, I met a companion who stood by me during moments that were otherwise mine alone. Slowly, this companion became a constant presence, someone whose bond with me quietly took root in my heart. What made this connection so special was that it wasn’t defined by the usual worldly relationships. This companion never cared about my social status, caste, wealth, education, or fate. All that mattered was the love and purity in my heart.

This companion was none other than God, the one whom the entire world seeks in its most desperate moments.

To me, it is a beautiful mystery and a divine blessing that God became my companion. People might be surprised to hear this, but for me, it’s been the greatest fortune. Walking through life with Him by my side is nothing short of a miracle.

Most of my life has been spent in solitude. I’ve often found myself surrounded by people yet rarely spoken to. But this loneliness never felt heavy, because in every quiet moment, God became my closest companion. The joy of His presence is unlike anything else, so deep and personal that words fail to capture its beauty.

We all wish for loved ones to be with us every moment, our friends, family, or someone we trust. But that’s not always possible; everyone has their own duties and responsibilities. Yet, there is one companion who never leaves, God.

He is always with us, regardless of where we are or how we feel. Whether in joy or sorrow, we only need to call out to Him and share our hearts, just like we would with a friend or family member.

Need the comfort of a mother? Speak to God as your mother.
Want to confide in a friend? Call Him as your friend.
He won’t judge, nor will He reveal your secrets, He simply listens.

That’s the beauty of this relationship. God is one, yet He can be everything. Every bond can be formed with Him, and each one is unique and fulfilling in its own way.

I promise, if you make God your companion, He will never leave you alone.
Think of Draupadi,  humiliated in the royal court, she cried out to everyone: elders, warriors, even her husbands, but no one helped. Only when she called out to her friend Krishna, He came. He protected her dignity when all others failed. That’s the power of having God as your companion.

I’ve learned to smile through every situation, not because I’m strong, but because I walk with someone who is stronger than anything I may face.

Being in His company, I’ve learned two life-changing truths:

  • To smile, no matter the circumstances.

  • To trust that everything happens for a reason, because God, my companion, knows what’s best for me.

Where my plans end, His plans begin. He sees further, knows better, and acts in love.

This relationship goes beyond the traditional bond of a devotee and God. A devotee asks, sometimes even begs, for what they need, and often receives it. But a companion doesn’t beg; a companion asks with love and takes with trust. That’s the grace of this bond.

The day you begin nurturing this relationship, you won’t even realize when it grows deeper within you. And one day, you’ll look back and see how much strength it gave you, to endure, to smile, and to rise above every challenge.
